Bending die
What is Bending die
Bending die refers to a die that bends a blank or semi-finished product into a certain shape. The structure of the bending die is similar to that of the general blanking die, which is divided into upper and lower parts. It is composed of convex and concave dies, positioning, unloading, guiding and fasteners. However, the bending die has its own characteristics. For example, the convex and concave dies sometimes need to swing and rotate in addition to the general actions. The structural form of bending die shall be selected according to the shape, accuracy requirements and production batch of bending parts.
In stamping production, the die that causes the blank or other blanks to bend and deform along a straight line (bending curve), so as to obtain a certain angle and shape of the workpiece is called bending die (as shown in Drawing 1-3, it is an ordinary U-shaped bending die). The bending process can be divided into bending, rounding and twisting, as shown in table 1-2.

Process name | Drawing | Features and application scope |
Bending | Bending is a stamping process to bend bar, sheet, pipe and profile into a certain angle and shape.
Rounding | The end of sheet metal is rolled into a closed round head for processing parts similar to hinges.
Twisting | Twist the semi-finished products after blanking to a certain angle. |
